GHANAIAN BISHOPS 

We are looking forward to hosting two bishops ahead of the Lambeth Conference.  They are Bishop Abraham Ackah & Margaret and Bishop John Otoo & Beatrice from Ghana.  Fareham Deanery have asked St.Mary's to host the bishops on 13th July; to take them on the water, welcome them for a Church and Deanery Tea in the Church Hall, and take them to the Sea Sunday Celebrations by the Shore at 6.30pm.  Please join us in welcoming the bishops to the tea and shore service.

SEA SUNDAY 13th July 2008

Join us at 1830 by the D-Day Memorial on the shore in Warsash for our village 'Hymns of Praise' for Sea Sunday accompanied by Warsash Band.  This popular service celebrates the life and place of the river and sea in the community and supports the Mission to Seafarers and British Legion Poppy Appeal. 

CONGRATULATIONS

• To our former vicar, Trevor Reader, upon his marriage to Lynne Parkes at Lee on Solent on 21st June.   And to,
• Our former ordinand, Brian Whitley, who is to be ordained priest at Reading Minster on 29th July.

ALPHA COURSE or EMMAUS

Our next Alpha or Emmaus course which explores the Christain faith is scheduled for the Autumn.  More details will follow closer to the date.

QUIZ AID  for Christian Aid                                           

A fantastic evening was held in church on 7th June when 90 people enjoyed the special Christian Aid quiz.  With the tables instead of pews - the cafe style of the church was very relaxed. £450 was raised in addition to the record collection of £2400 by members of the congregation in the village. Thank you and well done!

ANNUAL MEETING  

Many thanks to the 50 participants at our annual meeting on 22nd April.  Congratulations to Mike Ford and Nick St.John who were reappointed as our Churchwardens; and to Suzi Greaves, Anne Ford, Kathryn Stock, Stephen Selmes and Peter Starkey who join the Parochial Church Council; and Liz Simpson appointed to the Deanery Synod. 

CONGRATULATIONS TO WARSASH WASPS

The St.Mary's Church sponsored Wasps soccer team celebrated winning the Southcott Homes Southampton FA Junior A Cup Final against Beaney Park in March.  Well done Wasps from coming back from 3:0 down to win 4:3.
