ALPHA            

Please note, the next Alpha Course will start in January 2009.  Andy, the vicar, hopes many of you will join him whether you’ve been on a course in the past or not; it will afford a tremendous opportunity for growing and learning about our faith.  It will especially be suitable preparation for those who might like to be Confirmed next year. 

READER LICENSING

We are looking forward to the Licensing of Eva Upward as a Reader on 27th September at 11:00 in Portsmouth Cathedral by the Bishop.  Eva will then join the other Readers on the staff of St.Mary's Church.  She will preach at 08:00 and 10:00 on 28th September after which there will be a grand 'Bring & Share' Lunch in the Church Hall at 12 noon.

HARVEST

Harvest is on Sunday 27th September at St.Mary's.  Along with our Festival services there will be a special Bring & Share Lunch at 12 noon in the Church Hall combined with the celebration of Eva Upwards licensing as a Reader.

ORGAN RECITAL

An evening with Richard Moore, Organ Scholar at Oxford, from St.Mary's.  14th November 2008 at 7.30pm in St.Mary's Church.  In support of Organ and our Charity of the Month.

FULL SCALE CHRISTMAS NATIVITY PLAY

The church will be transformed in to the Inn in Bethlehem on 19th and 20th December for a full Nativity Play in which we hope all the different groups of the church will take part.  The back of the church will be a Bethlehem market whilst the chancel becomes the stable.  An interactive and dynamic presentation of the Christmas story.  Come along and join in.
