A St.Mary's we think kids are great!  We are blessed by the young people and thank God for them; we want them to enjoy being Church.  We pray that they will experience the love of Jesus here and be Kid's and Youth Alive!

ON SUNDAYS:

Children are very welcome with their families at church on a Sunday.  For those with younger children the right side of the church has soft play furnishing and a cabinet with boxes of quiet toys, books and colouring.  These can be enjoyed at any time in any service.  The toilet and room at the back of the church can be used whilst a proper baby changing unit is in the Church Hall.

The 1000 service has activities for all ages.  Starting in the service at 1000 a child lights the candles before our prayers and praise songs.  Except for 1st Sunday of the month Family Worship, the children and young people then depart to the Church Hall for activities in their age groups.  They call the 3rd Sunday of the month 'Grape Sunday' because they return to the church worship to share in the dynamic celebration of communion.

THE GROUPS:

  • 0-3 years: Scramblers
  • 4-6 years: Climbers
  • 7-10 years: Explorers
  • 11+: Pathfinders
  • Youth: Sound & Vision Workshop

DURING THE WEEK:

'Stay & Play' is a dynamic parent, baby and toddler group.  An afternoon for parents to socialise, chat and play.  In the Church Hall, 1330 - 1500 every Thursday during school term time.  Once a month Stay & Play is followed by 'Tot's Praise'; 30 minutes of action songs and a Bible story hosted the Vicar in Church.  'Stay & Play' costs 50p per session including refreshments.

'Coffee Pot' is a group for women where children are welcome.  Tuesday mornings each week in a home or the Church Hall Lounge. 1015 for friendship around a Bible study, prayer and fun.

For more information about the activities for your daughter or son please contact Andy at vicar.warsash(at)btinternet.com

Occasional Activity Days and other special events are held for children in the village or linked with the school.

CHILD SAFETY   Please note that the Church regards the implementation of it's Child Safety Policy as of paramount importance.  All leaders and those who assist in ministry to children and young people are required to have an up to date 'Criminal Records Bureau' disclosure certificate.  The Parochial Church Council has an appointed Child Safety Officer who implements our church policy, details of which can be seen in church.
